Core is currently providing project management services on behalf of TransLink for the Marpole Transit Centre (MTC) project. This $498M facility is designed to support the charging, maintenance, and dispatch of 350 40’ Equivalent (Battery Electric) Buses and to service a diesel fleet at opening. MTC is a keystone project for TransLink’s climate change strategy and the goal of transitioning to a low-carbon bus fleet.
The project includes the development of a 21-acre site adjacent to the Fraser River, with significant geotechnical challenges, and requires raising the entire site by 2m to meet the City of Vancouver’s Flood Construction Level. The facility comprises of six buildings of varying size serving as maintenance, bus fueling and washing, parking for employee vehicles and fleet of buses, storage of machinery and equipment, along with ancillary office space with a total aggregate floor area of approx. 800,000sf.
